!!! Base Packages and Features

When you upgrade you have the choice of a [[Base Package with a Feature upgrade >> https://www.logos.com/basepackages#complete-upgrades]], or a [[Feature upgrade only >> https://www.logos.com/basepackages#features]]. Feature upgrades offer datasets, features and resources that are designed to help you do more with the books you already own e.g. guides, workflows, tools. There is a Starter Feature set, a Bronze Feature set, and a Full Feature set.

In addition to the Standard base packages you will find that there are denominational packages for Catholic, Anglican, Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal & Charismatic, Methodist & Wesleyan, Reformed, Orthodox and SDA. Catholic users can use the Verbum application with [[their base packages >> https://verbum.com/]].

!!! Considerations

As a minimum, Logos 8 needs Windows 7 SP1, 8.1, or Windows 10 (version 1607) or Apple OS X 10.11.

The *Base* packages and Feature upgrades will give you a discount for titles/features you already own so that you will pay only for titles/features that are "New to you". Note that the discount will be relative to the price structure of the package so it cannot be the same as the price you paid if purchased as individual items (or even a collection).

A [[Faithlife Connect >> https://connect.faithlife.com/get-started]] subscription will give you a discount on base packages and Feature upgrades, but you don't /need/ a Feature upgrade as a Connect (and Verbum Now) subscription provides an appropriate Feature set, together with /newly developed/ features.

If you already own a base package (Logos 4 or higher) then you can:-

* upgrade to a Standard base package, and/or a denominational package(s); OR

* upgrade via a Feature set *or* a subscription; OR

* upgrade via a combination of the above e.g. base package(s) & feature set, or subscription & base package(s).

If you are new to Logos, or never owned a base package (Logos 4 or higher), you can:-

* choose any base package, and

* choose whether to combine it with another Feature set, or a subscription.

/When available in 2019/, you can choose a *free* Logos 8 Basic Library to use with your current Library, or to experiment with, as it will have a few resources and datasets.
