!! Before you Start

You must select a *Custom* installation in order to avoid an automatic download of resources.

Do not install a version that is /older/ than your working installation.

After installationofLogos6+ you may need to [[download fonts >> https://www.logos.com/support/logos6/windows/missing-fonts]] for use in third party applications like MS Word.{{$ media:TOCnew.png}}

These procedures (Methods) use /generic/ folder and file names. See below for specifics of your Logos/Verbum version.

If you are installing Logos 4 to a non-Admin account in Windows XP [[read this first >> http://community.logos.com/forums/p/4906/40977.aspx#40977]].

Logos 4 can be installed from [[Logos4Setup >> http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe]].

The _default_ installation path is:

 C:\Users\{{_/username/_}}\AppData\Local\Logos4  *or*

 C:\Documents and Settings\{{_/username/_}}\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4 (Windows XP)

File names are prefixed by 'Logos4'  e.g. Logos4.msi, Logos4.exe.

The _default_ installation path is C:\Users\{{_/username/_}}\AppData\Local\Logos5

_Your_ Logos folder name could be \Logos4 or \Logos5 depending on how you upgraded.

File names are prefixed by 'Logos'  e.g. Logos.msi, Logos.exe.

Verbum can be installed side-by-side with Logos as it has a different executable and base folder.

This method is intended for use with an *offline* computer.

This method is intended for use with an *offline* computer, \\ but initial *sign-in* may have to be performed online. {{$ media:TOCnew.png}}

*Note:* Your _Logos_ folder name could be\Logos, \Logos4 or \Logos5 depending on how you upgraded.

#. Backup the ...\Logos folder from a *working* installation to an external drive

* the files in ...\Logos\Install\Installers are needed for installation at Steps 3,4& 5

* the files in ...\Logos\Install\Installers are needed for installation at Steps 3 & 4.

* if you have a custom installation backup these files from the _default_ installation path above.

#. Where necessary install the latest .NET [[for your operating system >> https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/index]] (Offline installers are available){{$media:TOCupdated.png}}

#. If present run DXSETUP.exe

#. Run LogosPrerequisites.msi (for Logos 4/5)

#. Run Logos-x64.msi or Logos.msi from the desired user account

* select *Custom* installation and *uncheck* "Automatically Download Updates"

This method saves resource downloading and indexing but gets installation files from Logos servers.
