* Open the Guides menu and click on one of the listed(/saved/) Exegetical Guides on the right:

* *(Logos 4)* Saved guides are not displayed in the menu, so it is advised that you drag your guide into a Favorites folder before closing the guide. Then it can be opened from Favorites in the future.

When you make changes to sections in an Exegetical Guide Logos /saves/ the guide (see [[Opening a saved Exegetical Guide >> # Opening a saved Exegetical Guide]]). /Don't confuse a saved guide with a [[Custom Guide >> Customizing the Passage and Exegetical Guides]]/.
When you make changes to sections in an Exegetical Guide, Logos7 /saves/thatinstanceofthe guide (see [[Opening a saved Exegetical Guide >> # Opening a saved Exegetical Guide]]). /Don't confuse a saved guide with a [[Custom Guide >> Customizing the Passage and Exegetical Guides]]/.InLogos8,theguideitselfissaved,anditbecomesacustomisedguide.

#. This is where you can type in a description.
#. Logos keeps track of /Creation/ and /Modified/ date/time (when saving a guide).
#. *Add* allows you to include other sections in your guide,butitisnotpermanentunlessyoucreatea[[CustomExegeticalGuide>>CustomizingthePassageandExegeticalGuides]]. \\ \\ {{$ media:EG1d.png }} \\ \\

#. All sections have this arrow on the left side. If you click on the arrow that section will expand or collapse (you can also click in another area).
#. If you hover your mouse over the section an *X* will appear on the right side. If you click on it, Logos will close that section. It is not permanently removed and will appear the next time you open your Exegetical Guide. \\ But if it was a /saved/ guide it will *not* appear the next time you open the /saved/ guide.
#. Notes can be found in most sections. If you click on it, Logos will show a box in which you can enter the text.

#. On some sections you will see *Settings*. If you click on it, Logos will show a drop down menu or list. The contents of the drop down depends on the section.

!! Deleting Exegetical Guides

In *Logos 5+* go to the [[Guides menu >> # Opening a saved Exegetical Guide]], right click a /saved/ Exegetical Guide and click *Delete*.

In *Logos 4* it is necessary to locate and open a saved guide to delete it:
 
Go to the [[Guides menu >> # Opening a saved Exegetical Guide]], right click a /saved/ Exegetical Guide and click *Delete*.

*Warning*: if you delete a custom Exegetical Guide its saved guides will also be deleted.

 You may notice that the Exegetical Guide takes considerable time to populate when started with several sections or a wide scripture range. See which tips below might be useful to you in improving the startup speed of your guide.
 
* When the Exegetical Guide is updating to a new scripture range, you may notice a *Stop* button next to the Reference box. You can press this and Logos will stop updating the guide. You then can click on a section that you want to examine and Logos will populate just that section.
