* Ratings can be used in *Search* and in setting up dynamic *Collections*.

* When browsing my library, I will often rate an interesting book to 1 star so that I can review that book more closely when time permits. Then I clear or up the rating depending on if the book seems useful to me.

* You could rate new books as 2 stars and review them when time permits. That way, books that are not useful can be rated 1 star.

!! How do I change the Ratings?

* When Library *View* is set for /Tile~/List/:

* To set a rating, click on the star rating (see red arrow) that you want for that book. \\ \\ {{$ media:LibraryRating2a.jpg }} \\ \\

   * To clear a rating, right click on the stars, a pop-up menu appears (see red arrow). Click on *Clear User Rating*. \\ \\ {{$ media:LibraryRating2c.jpg }} \\ \\

* When Library *View* is set for /Details/ display (Title, Author, etc showing) click on *Info* (the *i* with a circle around it) and select the book that you want to change on the left side of the window (don't click on its title), making sure that the Info section on the right is showing that book:

   * Select the book that you want to change (don't click on its title).

   * To clear a rating, right click on the stars (in the Info area on the right). A pop-up menu appears. Click on *Clear*. \\ \\ {{$ media:LibraryRating2d.jpg }} \\ \\ \\

   * To set a rating, click on the star rating you want (see black arrow).

!! Changing Ratings while viewing a book

 Logos provides a way to change your book's /Rating/ while you are viewing your book. This can be very handy as you are viewing your book and decide that you like or dislike a book.

#. With your book open, click on the info icon {{$ media:InfoIcon.png }} and Logos will show you the info window for your book. \\ \\ [[{{$ http://wiki.logos.com/media/Rating1b.png?maxwidth=600 }} >> http://wiki.logos.com/media/Rating1b.png]] \\ \\

#. Click on the star to set the rating. \\ \\ {{$ media:Rating1c.png }} \\

#. Now simply click on the star to set the /Ratings/. \\ \\ {{$ media:Rating1c.png }} \\

 * To clear the /Rating/, right click on the stars. In the pop-up menu click on *Clear*. \\ \\

#. Close the Info page by clicking on *Done*.

#. Now you can close the info window by clicking on *Done* (your rating will show up in the Library next to your book).

* After changing a rating on your book this may effect collection(s) in which you use ratings. \\ \\ \\

 

!! Is there a way to change the Ratings of multiple books at the same time?

* This can be done in Library.

You can do this in Library, with the Info pane open.

* You will need the Info (the *i* with a circle around it) turned on.

#. Click on a book that you want selected. \\ \\ {{$ media:RatingChangeMany.jpg?maxwidth=700 }} \\ \\

#. Then move to the last book that you want selected. Hold the *shift* key down and click on the last book.

#. Now if there is a book that you did not want selected, move the mouse over that book, hold the *Ctrl* key down and click.

#. In the Info pane you can now click on the star for which you want to rate these books.

  * this would be the best place to open the Info pane.

#. Or in the Info pane you can now click on *Clear ratings* to remove all ratings.

#. Click on the appropriate star to rate these books.

#. Alternatively, you could click on *Clear ratings* to remove all ratings.
