This method is intended for use with an *offline* computer,\\but/initial/*sign-in*willhavetobeperformedonline.
This method is intended for use with an *offline* computer.
Please read [[Before you Start >> # Before you Start]] carefully.
*Note:* With v8.4+, the/initial/installationmustbeperformedonlinee.g.[[Method 3>> # Method 3]], \\ but you can /update~/upgrade/ from a previous version with the appropriate *.msi file. \\ Thereafter, you can re-install from a backup of *this* installation. {{$ media:TOCnew.png}}
*Note:* With v8.4+, see [[Method 2>> # Method 2]]forthepossibleimpactofan/initial/installation. \\ However, you can safely/update~/upgrade/ from a previous version with the appropriate *.msi file. \\ Thereafter, you can re-install from a backup of *this* installation. {{$ media:TOCnew.png}}
 
*Note:* Your _Logos_ folder name could be \Logos, \Logos4 or \Logos5, depending on when/how you upgraded.
* \Logos\Users
* /these are the only folders that you need from backup/
#. Start Logos and sign-in.Thenselect*WorkOffline*.
#. Start Logos and sign-in
* /initial/ *sign-in* will have to be performed online.
* then select *Work Offline*.
#. Open some resources. If you get the message "This resource is no longer in your library":-
* enter *scan <path to backup resources>* in the /Logos/ Command box
This method saves resource downloading and indexing but gets installation files from Logos servers.

*Note:* With v8.4+, this procedure will only work for a /re-installation/ i.e. you cannot transfer your current installation to another computer. {{$ media:TOCnew.png}}
*Note:* With v8.4+, you can transfer your current installation to another computer, but beware that the two libraries will be kept in /sync/ \\ i.e. if you remove or download resources in one, it will be repeated in the other. {{$ media:TOCnew.png}}
 
*Note:* Your _Logos_ folder name could be \Logos, \Logos4 or \Logos5, depending on when/how you upgraded.
* select *Custom* installation and *uncheck* "Automatically Download Updates"
* change the installation folder if necessary e.g. E:\, C:\Users\{{_/username/_}}
* immediately exit the Sign-in window after the installation has finished
* when the installation has finished, immediately exit the Sign-in window
* *with v8.4+*, you have to kill Logos in Task Manager.{{$media:TOCnew.png}}
* *with v8.4+*, you have to kill Logos in Task Manager.
#. If they exist *delete* the following folders from the /new/ installation and replace them from your /backup/
* \Logos\Data
