!! What are Clipping documents?
 
* Clipping documents are as they suggest, a document which you add one or more clippingsto.

* A Clipping doc is useful to collect information from your different resources relating to a specific topic or idea.

* You can add text as a clipping, but you _cannot_ add pictures or images to your clipping.

!!! Using the Right Click menu to add a clipping
* If you have never created a clippings document, then you can click /Add a Clipping/ in the right click menu. Remember to name it so that you can find it later.

!! How to delete a Clipping
* This deletes a single clipping within your document.

#. Hover your mouse over the top of a clipping.
#. Notice that a red *X* appears on the right side of the clipping.
#. Click on the red *X* to delete it.

  * If you accidentally delete a clipping, you can restore it by pressing *Ctrl Z* on your keyboard. But you must do this immediately after deleting the clipping before performing any other operation.

#. Click on the *add tag* in a clipping.
#. Type in a name which you want to tag this clipping with.
  * It should be as unique as possible to aid searching.
#. Repeat for any other tags you want.

!!! Using Find to locate a tagged clipping
* You can use the /Find/ feature to locate a clipping, or find words or phrases that appear in a clipping.
* You can use the /Find/ feature to locate a clipping(viaitstags), or find words or phrases that appear in a clipping.
* /Find/ will show one or more *clippings* with content that matches what you typed in the /Find/ box.

!!! Using Search to locate a tagged clipping
* You canalso use Basic /Search/ to locate atagged clipping.Inthe/Search/toolyourclipping will showup in the *Your Documents/MyContent* section.
* You can use Basic /Search/ to locate a clipping withorwithouttags.\\Results will be in the *Your Documents* sectionofasearchon"Everything".
* There is a few minute delay after initially entering your *Tag* before you can use /Search/ to locate it. \\ \\
* But it is possible to restrict a Search to finding tags:-
#. Add your *tag* to your clipping (see [[Setting a tag in a clipping >> # Setting a tag in a clipping]]). \\ \\ {{$ media:ClippingTagSearch.jpg?maxwidth=550 }} \\ \\
 
#. Open the /Search/ tool and select *Basic* | *Your Documents* \\ Select "My Tag" under *Search Fields*

#. In the Find box, type your tag value and press /Enter/.
#. Select *Basic* | *Your Documents* and select "My Tag" under *Search Fields*

 * If "My Tag" is not listed, use *mytag:* in the Search box e.g. *mytag:love*.
#. Notice the name of your document and the portion of text with the result.
 
!! Adding Hyperlink in a clipping
* You may find a need to add a hyperlink to another resource in your clipping.

* The steps below will show you how to do this \\ \\
#. In your clipping, click in the text area and type in the text that you want.
 
 * /it is a good idea to have at least one space character after the text that you want to turn into a link/

#. Then select the part of your text that you want to make into a hyperlink.

#. In the resource that you want to link to, ensure your desired location is at the top of the window.

#. In the resource that you want to link to, open its panel menu.
#. Click the hyperlink icon in your clipping.
#. Click on *URL* to add the hyperlink address to the clipboard. \\ /-- make sure your desired location in the resource is at the top of the window before adding the hyperlink address/
  * /on hover it will display/ "Address"
 * If you have already set the /Copy location/ to URL, then you could use the keyboard shortcut *Ctrl+Alt+C*. \\ \\ [[ {{$ http://wiki.logos.com/media/Clip13c.png?maxwidth=300 }} >> http://wiki.logos.com/media/Clip13c.png]] \\ \\
#. *Paste* your hyperlink address into the drop down box. \\ \\ {{$ media:Clip13d2.png }} \\ \\
#. Right click in the hyperlink box in your clipping.
#. In the drop down menu, click on *paste* (your hyperlink address is pasted into the hyperlink box). \\ \\ {{$ media:Clip13d2.png }} \\ \\

#. Hover your mouse over the new link.

#. At the bottom of the pop-up are directions to open the link (hold the *Ctrl* key down and left click on the link).
