!! Creating flexible tools from the shortcut bar
Youmayhavenoticedthatwhenyou create a shortcut on the Shortcuts bar that your tool opens to whereyouarecurrentlyviewinginaBible. If you create a favorite from the shortcut, thenyourfavorite will take on the properties of the shortcutforthatspecifictool. Thisaddsflexibilityforthefavoritesinthatwhen you save a favorite directly from an open tool it remembers specificallywhere the toolwasopenedto. And when using a favorite built from a shortcut it is now flexible to use your currentBible locationinthetool.Pleaseseethispostfordetails[[Creatingflexibletoolsfromtheshortcutbar>>http://community.logos.com/forums/t/32777.aspx]].

!! The power of Favorites
!!!!! Organize Notes/Clippings
\
I created a sample project as shown in the image below. Just follow the item numbers below which are associated with the image. \\ \\ [[{{$ http://wiki.logos.com/media/Favorites7a2.png?maxwidth=600 }} >> http://wiki.logos.com/media/Favorites7a2.png]] \\  (click on image to view larger view) \\
I discovered the power of using the Favorites in video [[Preparing a Sermon >> http://www.logosbiblesoftwaretraining.com/other-videos/preparing-a-sermon-with-logos-4/]] that Mark Barnes made.
#. By organizing using folders you can quickly be able to locate multiple projects. Here I have made a folder named *Luke* for all my projects which may fall under the category of Luke.

#. This is a project that I named *Jesus Birth*. Notice that it is a folder under the main folder *Luke*, so I can collapse it or expand it as needed.

#. This is a link to one of my named Layouts. You can create special *Layouts* and associate them to a specific project (via a link). You can place your resources in the panes as you like. In this Layout, it will remember where each book was located and the exact place in the book when we saved the Layout.

#. This is a link to the *Text Comparison* tool. I set the range of verses that I wanted to display before making the link in Favorites. Changing the Bibles or verse range afterwards won't affect the link. And you can have different links for different Bibles/verse ranges. \\ \\ \\ [[{{$ http://wiki.logos.com/media/Favorites7b2.png?maxheight=400 }} >> http://wiki.logos.com/media/Favorites7b2.png]] \\  (click on image for a larger view) \\ \\
#. This is a project that I named *Jesus Birth* (taken from Mark's example). Notice that it is a folder under the main folder *Luke*. So i can collapse it or expand it as needed. For pastors, you could easily name the folder *Sermon on Jesus return given 1/24/2010*.
#. This is a link to one of my named Layouts. You can create special *Layouts* and associate them to a specific project (via a link). This can come in pretty handy. You can place your resources in the panes as you like. In this Layout, it will remember where each book was located and the exact place the book was at when we saved the Layout. (this is not my general Layout that i use for my normal study, so this is a really good use of named Layouts)
#. This is a link to the *Text Comparison* tool. I set the range of verses that i wanted to display in the tool before making a link in my favorites. So if i ever move or hide the tool and want to return back to the verse range/Bibles that i orginally setup, i can just click on this link and it will restore the verse_range/Bibles that were there when i made the link. Thus you can change the Bibles or verse range and then later return. Again you can have different links which were set to differ (…)
#. This is a link to *Notes*. You can create as many links to notes as you wish. In some cases you may even want to create links to the same note in different projects.
#. This is a link to a Bible reference.ItallowsmetolinkaspecificBible&verse. So i can quickly navigate either my preferred Bible to this exactbook/verseor set another pane up with *Send Hyperlinks here*. Again you can create as many linksto asmanyversesasyou need.

#. This is a link to a *Clippings* file. As Mark showed us, we can have named clippings files for specific topics (ones we have put time into for detailed info). Again you can link as many clippings file as you want to your project. Mark's use for general researched info to be placed in a named clipping and then be used in any/many place in my studies was really sharp.
#. This is a link to a *Clippings* document. Again, you can link as many clippings as you want to your project.
#. This is a link to the NKJV Bible verse (similar to item 6, but in a different version). Again to show that you can have numerous links to different verses in different Bibles(eveninGreek/Hebrewversions).

#. This is just showing you that you can organize multiple projects under a general project name.  \\
