Revision 35 by Dave Hooton on 2020-11-01 at 05:02:11 to Reading Plan (Basics):
!!!! Overview
A /Reading Plan/ is a tool of Logos which allows you to setup the reading of a Bible or book in a specified time period, and aids you in tracking your progress. You can setup as many reading plans as you like. This wiki page will provide the basic information in setting up a reading plan and using the reading plan. Note that [[the /Chapter/ Reading Plan >> # Starting a Chapter Reading Plan]] is the least flexible, whilst you should use the [[Reading Plans]] wiki for specific custom reading plan (…)
In a /Reading Plan/ you can read a whole book or a part of a book, and you can choose which days of the week to read the book e.g. daily, every weekday, or on set days; which means you could have another Plan for the remaining days of the week.

Whilst there is a great deal of flexibility in setting up your reading plan(s), you still might find some limitations e.g. the way that Logos will try to divide your reading across the time frame that you specify may not be the way that you wanted to read the book.
!!!! Selecting the portion of the book to read
Logos provides a method for breaking up what you read in a book or Bible. If you are setting up a plan for a Bible, then you can break it down by Bible book/chapter/verse, and you can also specify that it will be /read/ by chapter or pericope, or accept the /default/, where Logos tries to divide your reading into equal parts over the time period that you specify e.g. by selecting parts of chapters/pericopes.
When breaking a non-Bible into parts obviously you cannot do this like a Bible. But if Logos has your book /indexed/ by page number, you can specify which pages that you want to read. So if you want to read a multi-chapter section of a Systematic Theology book, you could specify which page number to start with and which page number to stop with. !!!! Setting up a Reading Plan
Logos provides a Reading Plan editor. You will use this whenfirst setting up your reading plan, and you can make further changes until you commence /reading/. Someplanscannotbechangedafterthat(SEEBELOW),but Logos will /restart/ otherreadingplans. So it is best to setupyourplanandedititbefore you actually start your reading.

/Catch up to here/ allows you to mark one or more days as *Done*. You might have caught up on your reading for these sessions (independent of the Plan) or you might want to skip these sessions. The example below shows how this works.

Some books are indexed by Bible (or another datatype) and/or Page number. Others may be indexed by Volume/Page number. And some may not be indexed at all. \\ If a book is *not* indexed, then the Reading Plan will force you to read the whole book.
