Revision 102 by Hayley R Price on 2013-07-10 at 21:33:35 to Metadata correction proposals – Addressed by Logos:

compare to previous revision

* *Martin H Manser* == *Martin H. Manser* (note the missing period)
* *M. J. McNamara* == *Martin McNamara* (listed the former way as editor of /The Aramaic Bible: Targums in Their Historical Context/ but it's clearly the same person as one of the chapters is by a Martin McNamara; I suggest standardizing the spelling with his full first name *and* middle initial
* *The Modern Catholic Encyclopedia* should be type:Encyclopedia
* *The Modern Catholic Encyclopedia* should be type:Encyclopedia
* *The Nag Hammadi Library in English* - should not be type:Ancient Manuscript.
* This is due to a bug. Resource association breaks if the two books are different types. We've left this as Ancient Manuscript to keep the tooling intact.
* *Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah* by Richard D. Patterson (Biblical Studies Press) missing cover art; others in the series have it
* *NASB Topical Index* should be type:Concordance as it is similar to NASUEECB
* *Nelson's Annual Preacher's Sourcebook* missing Series tag for 2003 & 2005 editions. Subject should also be the same as the rest of the series.
* *New American Commentary* on Hebrews needs to be Series: New American Commentary NOT The New American Commentary
* *New Bible Commentary* - only author listed is D. A. Carson; but there are four authors (editors): D. A. Carson, R. T. France, J. A. Motyer, and G. J. Wenham; they are correctly all indicated in the citation, but not in the Author field
* *New Dictionary of Sacramental Worship* should be part of a series with the other Liturgical press works that have "Dictionary" in their title, and perhaps other works in the "Collegeville Catholic Reference Library" series (see product by that title; Liturgical Press considers the whole thing a series)
* This is a tricky one. The series page on Lit Press's website lists the two CD Rom collections as its parts, not the individual dictionaries (hardcopies of which are also available via the website). Since none of the books in question contain a series name in their front matter, I'm inclined to consider this a collection, and not a series.
* *The Other Side of Good News: Confronting the Contemporary Challenges to Jesus’ Teaching on Hell* - title is missing the word "the" between "of" and "Good"
* *Photos from the Holy Land* - type should be Media Collection not Monograph [Media collections have special features, this is really an old-school resource with embedded images]
* *Preacher's Homiletic Commentary* -- resource titles do not include "PHC" or "Preacher's Homiletic Commentary".
* All resources contain the series title "Preacher's Complete Homiletic Commentary", which matches the format of the series title on the title page.
* *A Practical View of the Prevailing Religious System of Professed Christians* (full title "A Practical View of the Prevailing Religious System of Professed Christians, Contrasted with Real Christianity") is better known as "Real Christianity"; either use the full title so that a search for "Real Christianity" in one's library will find it, or put "Real Christianity" as the default short title (preferably the latter regardless of whether you decide to do the former or not)
* This seemed like a good fit for the 'alternate title' field. That should resolve the searchability problems.
* *Pressure Points* series: three of them (Standing Fast; A Voice in the Wilderness; Who's In Charge?) are missing the descriptive text saying which volume they are in the series [Only two of the six books reference the order they are in the series at any point in the body of their text. Numbering the volumes doesn't seem to be a big priority to the authors, and trying to fill in the blanks would require too much guesswork on our part.]
* *Revelation* - several books have this title and it should be unique e.g. Ryrie's could be titled /Everyman's Bible Commentary: Revelation/ and Krodel's could be /Augsberg Commentary on the New Testament: Revelation/.
* We have a LOT of commentaries with similar or identical names, and we have them because a lot of commentaries have been published with similar or identical names. There's a limit to how comfortable we are altering the titles of resources,  and we have opted to roll with most of these. They're distinguishable by series title and author names, same as they would be if you had hardcopies sitting next to eachother on the shelf.
* *Revelation:Unlocking the Scriptures for You*, is Type Monograph. It should be Type Bible Commentary
* One of the qualities we use to define Commentaries is that they are organized by bible verse (in one way or another). /Revelation: Unlocking the Scriptures for You/ by Alger Fitch is completely organized by topic and not verse. The other volume on Revelation in the Unlocking the Scriptures series, by Lewis Foster, is organized by verse, and is indexed and designated a commentary accordingly.
