Customizing the Bible Word Study Guide

 

#. Click on *Guides* in the top menu.

#. Click on *New* > *Make a new Guide* \\ /This opens the Guide Editor/.

#. Select *Bible word* as the /Kind/ in order to get sections for the BWS.

#. Click *Untitled Guide* to name your custom guide (see below).

#. Click on *Guides* in the top menu.

#. Locate the custom BWS guide that you want to edit

#. Right-click it and Select *Edit* \\ \\ /The Guide Editor will open in a new tab/ \\ \\ {{$@img-fluid amber:11033155:45497806}} \\ \\

#. Right-click it and Select *Edit* \\ \\ /The Guide Editor will open in a new tab/ \\ \\ {{$@img-fluid amber:11033155:45497806?maxwidth=400}} \\ \\

#. If you want to change the guide's name, click in the title box.

#. If you click on *Bible Word Study* in the /All Sections from.../ list \\ Logos will populate all the sections into the area on the opposite side.

#. If you click on the *X* in the section header, Logos will remove that section. \\ You can always add it back by clicking the same section in the /Individual Sections/ list

#. Click on the pencil icon (or on the title box) and name the guide *BWS Compare ESV to KJV* and press the Enter key.

#. On the left side under /Individual Sections/ click on *Topic/Definition*. In the new section click on *All Resources* to the right of /Collection:/. \\ In the drop down list find a collection of *Bible Dictionaries* (create one if necessary with the rule *type:encyclopedia title:bible*).

#. On the left side under /Individual Sections/ click on *Translation*. In the new section click on *Default Bible* to the right of /Preferred Resource/. \\ In the drop down list find *ESV* and click on it. Now this Translation will use the ESV.

#. On the left side under /Individual Sections/ click on *Translation*. In the new section click on *Default Bible* to the right of /Preferred Resource/. \\ In the drop down list find *KJV* and click on it. Now this Translation will use the KJV. \\ \\ *Now our Custom BWS guide is built. Let's open it.*   \\ \\

In the top menu click on *Guides*. \\ In the drop down menu find our new Custom BWS guide, *BSW Compare ESV to KJV* and click on it to open it. \\ \\ *Now lets enter an English word to test the guide* \\ \\ [[{{$ http://wiki.logos.com/media/CustBWS7f.png?maxheight=300 }} >> http://wiki.logos.com/media/CustBWS7f.png]] \\ \\

In the top menu click on *Guides*. \\ In the drop down menu find our new Custom BWS guide, *BSW Compare ESV to KJV* and click on it to open it. \\ \\ *Now lets enter an English word to test the guide* \\ \\ [[{{$ http://wiki.logos.com/media/CustBWS7f.png?maxheight=250 }} >> http://wiki.logos.com/media/CustBWS7f.png]] \\ \\

#. In the /Word/ box type: *king* and press the Enter key. Notice that you see 2 sets of *Greek Words* and *Hebrew Words*, each with an ESV and KJV. \\ If you were to open each of the Greek Words sections, you would see that /King/ was translated 117 times in the ESV and 122 times in the KJV (look in the small bar graph and on the left of it is a number. This number is the number of occurrences found). \\ \\ *Now lets test our Custom guide using an Original Language word which uses different sections.* \\ \\ [[{{$ http://wiki.logos.com/media/CustBWS7h.png?maxheight=300 }} >> http://wiki.logos.com/media/CustBWS7h.png]] \\ \\

And that our OL word is only translated as /King/ in the KJV.
