  * Logos may hide that tab (as if you were moving the tab to a new window pane).
     * /Logos may hide that tab whilst dragging, but the resource will reappear after you drop the tab on the Shortcuts bar./
  * After you drop it on the toolbar, the resource will reappear where it was prior to dragging it.
 * Since you already have the resource open, then clicking on the new shortcut will just ensure that it is active.
 #. Now you see your new /Shortcut/ on the toolbar. \\ \\ {{$ media:Shortcut4f.png }} \\ \\
   * /if the tab is closed, the resource will be opened when you click on the shortcut./
  * Since you already have the resource open, then clicking on the new /Shortcut/ will just ensure that it is active.
\\ \\
   * Try selecting another tab in that window pane (so the one you created a Shortcut for is hidden).
   * Or try closing that tab (the one you created a shortcut to).
   * Now click on the new /Shortcut/ and that resource will become active or be opened (if you closed it).

\\ \\ \\

!! Saving Shortcuts & Restoring them to shortcut bar
You may have so many shortcut on your shortcut bar this you find that you have to scroll often. You can save shortcuts in your Favorite tool and then remove them from the shortcut bar. Then later you can restore your shortcuts from the favorite tool. Please see this post [[Saving Shortcuts & Restoring them to shortcut bar >> http://community.logos.com/forums/t/32779.aspx]].

\\ \\ \\
!!! Creating Folders

* You may have so many shortcut on your shortcut bar this you find that you have to scroll often. \\ This is where you need to create /folders/ in order to maximise space:
!! Known problems with Shortcuts
!!! Properties not attached to Shortcut
* When creating a /Shortcut/, the /Shortcut/ does not retain parameters (property) for the command.
 * This was acknowledged by Logos in this [[post >> http://community.logos.com/forums/p/8157/64807.aspx#64807]] and as of 4.0b Melissa (from Logos) says that it is still an open issue.
 * Parameters such as Bible reference or to open in a Floating window, opening Biblical People to specific person, etc. \\ \\
* A work around would be to create your link as a [[Favorite >> Favorites]], the favorite will retain the parameters/properties. \\ In some cases you can create a /Shortcut/ from a Favorite and it retains its properties. (see [[Creating a Shortcut to a Logos Favorite >> # Creating a Shortcut to a Logos Favorite]]{{~ )}} \\ \\

!!! Cannot change Shortcut icons
* This is fixed in *ver 4.1*, see [[Changing Shortcut icon >> # Changing Shortcut icon]]
* Logos has predefined icons for its tools/layouts/notes/guides etc. Several user have expressed a wish to change these to better identify different instances of similar icons. Unfortunately this is not possible at this point in time (ver 4.0bSr2).
 * But if you hold your mouse over a /Shortcut/ icon Logos will show you some information on that shortcut.
 * But this is not fully consistent. (e.g. Layouts show layout images, Commands show command, but Notes give no details on note name)

* We do have some control over the icons for external shortcuts.
 * For instance, if you create a windows shortcut for your document or app, then you can use windows to edit that windows shortcut and thus change which icon that windows associates with that shortcut. The icon which is associated with your windows shortcut will appear in the /Shortcuts/ bar. (see [[Creating a Shortcut to other Windows apps/docs w\icons >> # Creating a Shortcut to other Windows apps/docs w\icons]]{{~ )}}
\\ \\ \\

!!! Not enough room on Toolbar to drop new Shortcut
* At some point you may fill up the area of the toolbar for /Shortcuts/.
#. Make sure that the scrolling arrow for the /Shortcut/ list on the left is not showing. \\ (if you see the left arrow, click on it until the arrow disappears) \\ \\ {{$ media:Shortcut8b.png }} \\ \\
#. Now you can drag and drop your new /Shortcut/ between the command box and the first /Shortcut/ icon. \\ \\ {{$ media:Shortcut8c.png }} \\ \\
  * Notice the vertical I-bar will appear when you are able to drop the new shortcut.
  * This may not be where you wanted that /Shortcut/ placed. Then see [[Rearranging your Shortcuts >> # Rearranging your Shortcuts]].
\\ \\ \\

!!! I don't see all my Shortcuts
* If you have a lot of /Shortcuts/ or if you resize the Logos window, you may not see all of your /Shortcuts/.
* When this happens Logos shows *arrows* for scrolling through your /Shortcut/ list (notice red circled *arrows*) \\ \\ {{$ media:Shortcut8a.png }} \\ \\
